Pirates and Spiders among new intros for youth leader Powell

High Point, North Carolina (March 26, 2007) - In Addition to the Pirates and Spiders, Powell will introduce Cameron, Baubles Girls and more! Dear to every boy’s heart, and tom boys too, are spider webs, camo and pirates, the design inspirations for three of the Powell Kids new youth collections. Bubble gum and bling were the inspiration for “Bauble Girls” the fourth group designed for the girls. These sturdy, fun and space efficient bedrooms for kids will wow their friends and please their parents because they are well made and well priced.

“Spider Web” is one of the leading groups; with its denim blue powder coated steel frame and red powder coated wire “spider web” design in the rolling cube bench, on the TV stand, in the chair backs, with painted red seats, and in the bunk bed frame. The activity tabletop is decorated with the web design in red and blue.

“Tommy” is a large collection featuring natural wood frame and red and blue panels. There’s a bunk bed and ladder, twin and full sized headboards, a matching three drawer dresser with a coordinating mirror, a contrasting five drawer chest, and a nightstand. All have a bright blue dowel frame with red panels and natural spindle corners and knobs, while the five drawer chest adds colorful contrast in green with yellow panels.

“Shiver Me Timbers” is sure to appeal to any little boy’s imagination with bunk beds that have a “ship’s” frame, complete with portholes, boarding ladder and bars on the brig what fun! The pirate/ nautical design is carried over to the coordinating chest, nightstand and bureau, with matching mirror all finished with a nautical “rope” trim. In keeping with the nautical look are antique brass hardware and an antique honey brown oak finish.

For some time “camo” (camouflage) patterns and colors have been featured in fabrics throughout the fashion industry. Now Powell is offering the “Cameron” collection, a twin study loft and coordinated accent pieces that includes a twin study loft, a three drawer chest that can fit under the desk of the loft bed, and a rolling storage bench with one drawer which can also fit under the bed. This metal group is made rough and ready for durability and is finished in “camo” colors.

In Powell’s accent group are the Princess Beds, including one that has the look of lace and elaborate wrought iron with an arch canopy and finished with carriage wheels. And more for girls is a bedroom and accent pieces called “Bauble Girls”. Inspired by dress up, bling and bangles the headboards are decorated with “baubles” strung in “necklaces”. In addition there are storage pieces and a chest all finished in a delicious mix of rainbow Sherbet: strawberry pink, silver, mint green and pastel orange.
