POWELL CO. CREATES DEALER PROGRAMS
New Product Packages Developed for Retail Sell-through

Culver City, California - (February 2, 2009) - Casual dining, youth, accent and occasional furniture resource Powell Co. introduces six new product packages to dealers at the winter Vegas Market, specifically developed to maximize retail sell-through, according to Tom Liddell, senior vice president, national sales.

The packages vary by number of units and styles offered, but each group of products is unified by a theme: Color Story, Masterpiece, Door Busters, Recliner and Table Specials, Cedar Chests, and Jewelry Armoires and Vanities. The selected furniture items met criteria for popularity, high retail impact and impulse buy potential.

“We’ve done our homework to determine the best products, pricing and merchandising formats that work in stores,” said Liddell. “It’s really a template for successful sell-through. All the retailer needs to do is to select the packages they want.”

“While this program is new, it won’t be a one-time thing,” he added. “Our mantra is to support Powell dealers in every way possible and to be invested their growth. We know retailers can buy product from anywhere. But we want to make it easy for them to move it off the floor and do the business they need to do.”

Support includes readymade advertising slicks, extended billing terms, 3D floor layouts, creative display suggestions and a host of sales support materials. Instructions for how to merchandise the package of products in stores is included. “We know that product groupings help consumers focus their attention in the store,” said Liddell. “And you want to give them a compelling reason to spend time with individual items because research shows that the longer they are engaged, the more likely they are to buy.”
